2024 Fall Cosmetology Application Criteria
Beginning May 9, 2024, A-B Tech is accepting applicants for the Fall 2024 Cosmetology program. All requirements must be met to be added to the program’s eligibility list.
Admission Requirements
To be considered eligible for the Cosmetology program, students must:
- Have applied to or attended A-B Tech within the past year. Apply online.
- Meet New Student Orientation requirements.
- Demonstrate college placement in English and Math.
- Meet with a Student Advisor to document eligibility and apply for the program. Students may come into the Bailey building anytime Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. for in-person services or schedule a virtual student advising appointment.

Please Note
- Please note that students accepted into Cosmetology will be required to attend a mandatory program orientation before registering for classes. This is separate from New Student Orientation. Students who fail to attend orientation may lose their seats in the program.
- Cosmetology students are strongly encouraged to complete Moodle Online Orientation prior to the program start to be successful in 100% online classes.
- Submission of proper documentation is required by the Spa Therapies and Operations Department and the NC State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners prior to class registration. Required documentation includes a Hepatitis B record, current government-issued photo ID showing date of birth, and social security card.
