Spicewalla Culinary Director Alyse Baca has what many foodies may imagine as the ultimate dream job. On an average work day the 41-year-old A-B Tech alumna can be found taste- testing recipes for Asheville-based boutique spice company Spicewalla in her home test kitchen; starring in Spicewalla’s playful Youtube show “Tiny Kitchen Cooking”; or teaching spice-making classes to private groups at Spicewalla’s colorful downtown shop. Baca graduated A-B Tech’s Baking and Pastry program in 2017. In this short video, she shares an inside glimpse into her daily work; how her Mexican roots influenced her choice to pursue the Culinary Arts, and how her love for family and food guides all of her marvelous culinary creations.
