| 1 | Obtain an Information Packet (website/in-person) to make sure you understand all aspects of the program and can meet the schedule and onboarding/medical requirements. |
| 2 | Review requirements and secure funds for the payment for the course. You must contact the sponsor and have a letter of sponsorship to register for class or pay by cash, check, or credit card. Must register in person (schedule a registration appointment at (828) 398-7878 AHWD 308). All required documents and payment must be presented at the time of registration. Valid Government ID (Cannot be expired) - driver's license, passport, military ID. Copy of HS diploma/HSE, transcripts, or TABE Reading test score of 10th grade or higher. You must bring documents for clinical onboarding. Physical examination & all vaccination records |
| 3 | Purchase and complete the onboarding package on the date given to you by the instructor for your class. You should have your background check, drug screen, online learning modules, and all medical documents uploaded and completed, including the following: Physical examination using the Medical Form provided. The student fills out pages 1-2, and the medical provider performing a physical exam fills out page 3. All vaccination records on the required list and obtain any missing doses or booster shots as needed. Immunization records of the following: TDAP, MMR, Varicella, TB, Influenza, Hepatitis B, and COVID vaccines. (COVID-19 vaccine is not required but suggested) Copies of blood tests can also be used for this record. |

Advance Placement
Prospective phlebotomy students must complete the standard admission requirements to enroll in the Health Occupations continuing education PBT program. Information packets are available in the registration office, AHWD 308. Phlebotomy is in the Continuing Education and Economic and Workforce Development division. Readmission Policy
All applicants must meet the entrance criteria set forth by the college and phlebotomy program prior to consideration for readmission. Readmission is contingent upon available space within the program. A student will be readmitted only one time. Repeating the program in its entirety is always required to stay competent in theory knowledge and skills prior to the clinical rotation.
Credits for Experiential Learning
At this time,. the AB Tech PBT program does not accept experiential learning because of the absence of formal education and training that can be widespread in the profession, in addition to no requirement for state licensure or certification for North Carolina.
