Phlebotomy Clinical Experience Facilities

The Phlebotomy program utilizes a variety of both inpatient and outpatient laboratories for student clinical rotations. These include physician office labs, walk-in patient lab service centers, local government-owned clinics, and hospital labs. Sites are subject to change semester to semester based on facility resources and contracts added. A-B Tech has 18 outpatient and 7 inpatient facility contracts to cover all student cohorts (availability fluctuates with clinic staffing needs).

Clinical Training Sites (Summary)

Clinical experiences are completed across a diverse network of healthcare facilities throughout Western North Carolina. These include:

  • Regional inpatient hospitals within major healthcare systems, providing exposure to acute care settings and high-volume patient populations

  • Outpatient laboratories and physician office labs, including primary care, internal medicine, and specialty practices

  • Community-based health centers and urgent care facilities, supporting hands-on experience in diverse patient care environments

These clinical partnerships span multiple counties in the greater Asheville region, offering students a broad range of real-world training opportunities across both hospital and outpatient settings.
