Alternative Text Guidelines


Texts in Digital Format

If you will need your textbooks and workbooks in digital format to use text-to-speech or screen reader software, please follow these steps:

  1. First, check and make sure your texts are not already available from the publisher in an audio version.
  2. If only hard copy texts are available, purchase your texts needed and save the receipt.
  3. Provide Support Services with the title, author, and edition of texts along with a copy of the receipts (email a copy or drop it off at our office). This is required as proof of purchase due to copyright laws.
  4. Your digital format will be emailed to you when available. *

*Please note that if we don’t have a current digital copy saved, acquiring the digital format of the texts needed may take 1-3 weeks and sometimes longer if Support Services must contact the publisher.

 

Texts in Hard Copy

If you will need your textbooks and workbooks in hard copy format, please follow these steps:

  1. First, check and make sure your texts are not already available from the publisher in hard copy.
  2. If only digital texts are available, purchase your texts needed and save the receipt.
  3. Provide Support Services with the PDF/digital file, along with a copy of the receipts (email a copy or drop it off at our office). This is required as proof of purchase due to copyright laws.
  4. You will be emailed to pick up your hard copy format at the Support Services office when available.* When finished with the text, please return to Support Services.

*Please note that we submit a work order request from the print shop for the hard copy texts needed and this may take 1-3 weeks and sometimes longer if the print shop is busy.
