A-B Tech Group Meets With Charlotte Works and Sheriff’s Office
October 2nd 2019 Philip Cooper, UpSkill WNC Coordinator; Samantha Justice, Career Navigator; and Cindy Messer, Workforce Partnerships and Outreach Director, attended a group meeting with Charlotte Works and the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s office on how to integrate NCWorks and WIOA services to justice-involved individuals prior to release.

October 2nd 2019 William Clinton, PresidentA native of Buncombe County, William is a graduate of North Buncombe High School and a resident of Barnardsville. He was active in the Future Farmers of America, which led him to A-B Tech’s SGA.

October 2nd 2019 Steve Heulett, University Transfer Coordinator, coached the Asheville Women’s Rugby team over the summer, where they came in second in a tournament.
High School Equivalency and Project SEARCH Recognition Ceremony
October 2nd 2019 A-B Tech’s High School Equivalency and Project SEARCH Recognition Ceremony was June 6 at the Mission Health/A-B Tech Conference Center. The event ranks as one of the most uplifting of the year, as several graduates shared personal stories about the way A-B Tech has changed their lives.
Student Fill Empty Bowls
October 2nd 2019 Chef Instructor, Stephen Hertz, CEC, and five first-year Culinary Arts students helped to serve soup for companies that could not attend and serve themselves at Manna FoodBank’s 18th annual Empty Bowls. The event on September 24 at the DoubleTree had lunch and dinner options this year.
PBL Students Place at National Leadership Conference
October 2nd 2019 A-B Tech students Angela Lore and David Lore placed during the PBL National Leadership Conference in San Antonio. Angela placed first in Personal Finance, which comes with a $1200 scholarship.

Savell Honored for HBR Perfect Scores
October 2nd 2019 The State of North Carolina Health Plan honored 82 groups that achieved perfect scores on their Health Benefit Representatives Scorecards for the entire first quarter.
