Childhood Education Conference Draws Attendees to A-B Tech
September 2, 2019 The Good Things for Young Children Summer Institute held a two-day workshop at A-B Tech. There were 54 educators from the region, including teachers from Asheville City and Buncombe County Schools. The participants were teachers and teacher assistants of pre-k and K classrooms.
Prepare to Earn a Real Estate License at A-B Tech through Affordable Classes
August 16, 2019 A-B Tech Community College is offering a broker prelicensing course to prepare students to pass the real estate license exam at a much lower cost than private schools.

July 8, 2019 Leaders of Western Carolina University and Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College met Monday, July 8, to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions of higher education that guarantees admission to WCU for all A-B Tech graduates who satisfy specific requirements spelled out in the document.

College Advancement Receives Donation from Bank of America
June 14, 2019 The Bank of America Merrill Lynch Asheville Market presented a $7,500 check to the A-B Tech Foundation for the Lavender Fund Scholarship, a highly successful, year-long scholarship and support program for single parents attending the college.

Cosmetology Students Get Creative
June 6, 2019 Students from Spa Therapies and Operations had a competition in the Spring semester to showcase their cosmetology skills. Categories included Avant Garde, which consisted of Hair, Nails, and Makeup Team Competition on a live model, and Makeup and Nail competition on mannequins.
Hospitality Program Represented Locally and Internationally
June 2, 2019 On May 14, hospitality instructor Walter Rapetski attended the National Tourism Week Summit at the downtown Renaissance hotel. This was an opportunity to meet with local industry leaders, many of whom already support our program, to discuss the importance of tourism in our community.
