Student Support Services Reorganized to Enhance Services
August 3rd 2017 In order to best continue the excellent service provided to students and faculty, Student Services has reorganized the former Student Advising and Support Services department by creating two distinct departments, Student Support Services and Student Advising and Testing.
Helicopter Lands on Motorcycle Range
August 3rd 2017 Students in the Motorcycle Safety Education got an unexpected visitor on the last day of class, Sunday, July 16. Apparently, all local helipads were taken, and a child needed emergency transport.

Taking the Math Outside
August 1st 2017 Math Instructor Cindy Moore had her Calculus I students review for their final exam by doing Calc Caching, which Moore said was a scavenger hunt around campus for math problems.

A-B Tech Hosting Multiple Program Open Houses
July 6th 2017 A-B Tech Aviation's Fly Your Future Open House was held on June 26 at WNC Aviation next to Asheville Airport. Participants were able to meet pilots and instructors, tour planes, and enter a scholarship raffle.
BLET Graduates Days and Night Classes
July 6th 2017 A-B Tech’s Basic Law Enforcement Training conducted graduation ceremonies June 27 in Ferguson Auditorium for the 2017 Spring Day BLET Class and the 2016 Fall Night BLET Class with more than 30 graduates.
Craft Beverage Institute Receives Innovation Award at CCA Conference
July 6th 2017 A number of A-B Tech employees participated in the Community Colleges of Appalachia Conference here in Asheville on June 12 and 13. Presenters included Dave White, Heather Pack, Jill Sparks, Duane Adams, and Sharon Oxendine.
Innovative Expo Welcomes Educators
July 6th 2017 A-B Tech hosted its annual Innovative Expo on June 28, where 25 high school personnel visited the Asheville campus to learn about STEM programs offered at A-B Tech and why they are great options for their students.
