July 7th 2020 A-B Tech’s PBL chapter was named an Outstanding Local Chapter. Although they have been a Gold Seal Chapter for more than 20 years in a row, this is the first time A-B Tech’s PBL has earned this distinction. Kudos to PBL advisor Veronica Dooly.

July 7th 2020 John D. Gossett, Ed.D., officially took office as A-B Tech’s seventh president on July 1. He was most recently president of McDowell Technical Community College in Marion since 2016.
Witsell’s Novel Wins Award
June 1st 2020 Erica Witsell, ELA Instructor and JumpStart Advisor for the Department of Transitional Studies, received the Gold Award from the Independent Book Publishers Association for her debut novel, Give.

May 28th 2020 The Ivy Building at A-B Tech, the last remaining building from St. Genevieve's and Gibbons Hall, has been chosen as a Griffin Award winner from the Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County.

Longtime Benefactor and Volunteer Jack Ferguson Dies at 93
May 12th 2020 A-B Tech lost a devoted supporter and friend when Jack Ray Ferguson passed away on May 6. Jack and his wife, Carolyn, began their charitable giving to A-B Tech in 1999 with a pledge to support the Foundation through three charitable remainder trusts.

Annual A-B Tech Plant Sale Continued with ASAP Farmers Market
May 3rd 2020 Each year, the Biology Department at A-B Tech hosts the Gnilka Memorial Plant Sale in honor of their colleagues, Sarah and Arnie Gnilka. The proceeds go directly into the Gnilka Scholarship, which provides funding to students majoring in Biology.
