Computer Information Technology Advising Appointments

Meeting with your Computer Information Technology advisor is important for student success. It's not just about registering for classes; it's about picking the right pathway, meeting your personal needs, and fulfilling the requirements of your program.

Advisors

When you enroll as a student, the first semester you will be placed with a First Semester Expert advisor. In all subsequent semesters, you will be placed with an advisor for your program. Advising is typically open for a month before the end of the current semester, but continues up until the first class meeting time! Register early though, since some classes do fill up!

What to Expect During Advising

Typical appointments are around 30 minutes, depending on advising needs. While meeting, your advisor will create a "Course Plan" for you in Self-Service, which includes classes for the next semester(s) that match your selected program. You may then register for approved classes (in Self-Service) after your registration day/time (sent to your college email).

If you are a new student, please complete placement testing before advising, since results may impact courses to select.
