August 10th 2020 Asheville Parks and Recreation has teamed up with A-B Tech and Black Orthodontics to present Movies in the Parking Lot on Thursday, August 27. The FREE movie begins at dusk on a giant outdoor screen in the Parking Lot at A-B Tech parking lot on Persistence Drive.
A-B Tech Alum Beats Bobby Flay
August 10th 2020 Reza Setayesh, an A-B Tech alum and former Culinary instructor, was declared the winner on “Beat Bobby Flay” which aired August 9 on the Food Network. His signature dish was Jian Bing, a Chinese savory crepe that is often a breakfast street food.

A-B Tech Ranked 10th Safest NC College Campus on ADT Security List of Safest Campuses
August 10th 2020 A-B Tech has been ranked the 10th safest campus in NC based on our annual crime reporting data. A-B Tech Deputy Police Chief Scott Early was interviewed on WLOS 13 to discuss emphasis on campus safety.
Bookstore Reopening August 17
August 10th 2020 The A-B Tech Bookstore reopens Monday, August 17 and will be open from 9-6 Monday through Thursday and 9-5 Fridays. They are going to limit the number of customers in the store to 10 at a time.
Advanced Manufacturing Center Renovated and Open for Classes
August 6th 2020 Identifying the need to meet employment and skills requirements in the ever-growing manufacturing sector, A-B Tech developed an Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) in 2014, and $1.3 million was appropriated from the Connect NC Bond to fund renovations to A-B Tech’s Maple Building.

A-B Tech LIVE! EMS Rappelling
August 3rd 2020 The EMS students in the Rescue Scene Management class practiced their rappelling skills at A-B Tech Woodfin. Using one of the practice towers, they learned about safety, form, and how rappelling will likely be needed at some point in their careers.
