


Cosmetology Students Get Creative
June 6th 2019 Students from Spa Therapies and Operations had a competition in the Spring semester to showcase their cosmetology skills. Categories included Avant Garde, which consisted of Hair, Nails and Makeup Team Competition on a live model and Makeup and Nail competition on mannequins.
Hospitality Program Represented Locally and Internationally
June 2nd 2019 On May 14, hospitality instructor Walter Rapetski attended the National Tourism Week Summit at the downtown Renaissance hotel. This was an opportunity to meet with local industry leaders, many who already support our program, to discuss the importance of tourism in our community.

May 29th 2019 A-B Tech’s Small Business Center and the Carolina Small Business Development Fund are partnering to present the 5th annual Western Women's Business Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the A-B Tech Conference Center on the Asheville campus.
Birchfield Named Alum of Year at UNCA
May 29th 2019 April Birchfield, Department Chair of Social Sciences, was honored as the UNC Asheville History Department Alum of the Year.
A-B Tech Police Department Receives Above and Beyond Award
May 23rd 2019 The Above and Beyond Award was given to the A-B Tech Police Department from the State Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Police Lieutenant Joshua Edwards attended the ceremony and gave a brief presentation on March 23 in Greensboro.

Sonogram Quiz Bowl Winners
May 2nd 2019 Congratulations to the A-B Tech Sonography Program. Ashley Gillett, Vincent Gendusa, and Amy Taylor competed against other community college ultrasound programs and won the student quiz bowl. It was sponsored by the North Carolina Ultrasound Society at their annual symposium in Concord.
