Bradley Memorial Scholarship Presented to Two Students
March 5, 2019 Brady Services presented two scholarships to students in the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology Program. The Mike Bradley Memorial Scholarship is provided by Brady Services through the NC Association of Community College Facility Operations (ACCFO).
Culinary Team Receives Regional Trophy
February 28, 2019 A-B Tech’s student culinary team members received their trophy for winning the American Culinary Federation’s 2019 Southeast Regional competition. The team won in January, but regional trophies were presented in Atlantic City tonight following the Northeast competition.
Alum Performs with Marcus King Band on Late Show
February 28, 2019 The Marcus King Band, including A-B Tech alum Dean Mitchell, performed Friday, February 15, on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. A-B Tech instructor Jason DeCristofaro has taught Dean as a private music student and says he plays tenor saxophone and pedal steel guitar.

Culinary Student on Winning Cajun Cook Off Team
February 28, 2019 Culinary Student Henry Sink worked with Chris Moore, Executive Chef of the Stable Café, to win first place at the Cajun Cook Off presented by Asheville Mardi Gras. Henry started with Biltmore as a Culinary Extern and was hired following completion of his internship at Stable Café.

February 27, 2019 Jason Fair, Director of A-B Tech South, is the winner of the BB&T Staff Member of the Year Award for the North Carolina Community College System from the State Board of Community Colleges.
A-B Tech Hosting Third Power Up, Power On Event
February 26, 2019 A-B Tech Community College’s Women in Technology Group will hold its third annual Power Up, Power On event from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, in the A-B Tech/Mission Health Conference Center. This annual women’s event features a program of workshops and networking opportunities.
Madison Instructor and Former State Trooper Receives Purple Heart 42 Years After Being Shot on the Job
February 12, 2019 John Flynn, a Criminal Justice Technology instructor at A-B Tech Madison, received a Purple Heart from the NC State Highway Patrol in Raleigh after he was shot on the job in 1976.
