Asheville’s Jewish Women Talk at A-B Tech

February 16, 2017 Sharon Fahrer, a local historian, will present “Asheville’s Jewish Women” in honor of Women’s History Month at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, in A-B Tech Community College’s Ferguson Auditorium. The program is free and open to the public.

Adamson Named Dean of Arts and Sciences at A-B Tech

February 6, 2017 Kenet Adamson has been named Dean of Arts and Sciences at A-B Tech Community College. He previously served as the dean, coordinator of the Program Advising Center, chair of the English and communications department, and an English and humanities instructor for the College.

A-B Tech Student Captured in Act of Kindness

January 31, 2017 Student Michael Belanger was featured on the news on WLOS 13 after his act of kindness was caught on a cell phone camera. Belanger is an Ingles employee who stopped to help a man into the store by taking him by the hand.

Brunch Honors A-B Tech Retirees

January 4, 2017 More than 60 College retirees attended a brunch in their honor on December 15 in the Magnolia Dining Room, with plans to make it an annual event. President Dennis King welcomed the group and gave them an update on the college.

Gift for President King from Central Asia

January 4, 2017 History Instructor and Fulbright Scholar, David Dry, gave President Dennis King a kalpak over the holidays. Dry, who is teaching in the Kyrgyz Republic for the 2016-17 academic year, presented King with the traditional headgear, which is said to symbolize the tall mountains of Kyrgyzstan.
