A-B Tech Works to Protect First Responders
April 1st 2020 As A-B Tech strives to focus on the “community” aspect of its mission during the coronavirus pandemic, members of the college’s Emergency Services division are helping to protect area first responders from exposure by donating Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other supplies, providing certified face mask fittings, and creating critical training videos.

March 19th 2020 Dr. John D. Gossett Selected by Board of TrusteesA-B Tech announced today that John D. Gossett, Ed.D., has been named the college’s seventh president. Gossett currently serves as president of McDowell Technical Community College in Marion.
Upskill Program Receives Grant from Appalachian Regional Commission
March 8th 2020 The Appalachian Regional Commission announced approval of a grant in the amount of $149,596 to the Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College (A-B Tech) for the UpSkill 2.0 Reentry, Recovery, Work program.

February 7th 2020 Christian Donaldson, an Associate in Science student at A-B Tech, has been selected as a semifinalist for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's prestigious community college transfer scholarship.
A-B Tech Barber Academy Has Launched
February 7th 2020 Twenty new students joined Instructor Jay Kaufmann in the classroom of the Barber Academy on January 21 for its first class. The continuing education workforce training program will prepare students to apply for and pass the licensing examination offered by the North Carolina State Board of Barber Examiners (NCBBE).

Mars Hill A-B Tech Promise Signed
January 23rd 2020 Leaders of A-B Tech and Mars Hill University (MHU) signed a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions of higher education that guarantees admission to Mars Hill for all A-B Tech graduates who satisfy specific requirements.
